 There will be 4 successful candidates to align with the four directorates to work in the office of the CxIO (Chief clinical information officer team) and provide clinical input into digital transformation for the directorate.  The candidate will provide 0.5PA.

Main duties of the job

The associate CCIO provides clinical input to the information team acting within the office of the CXIO for their directorate.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide clinical knowledge and expertise as part of the CxIO team in IT
  • To act as conduit between the directorate and the Digital team
  • To assist with development and testing of community and acute hospital digital systems including, but not limited to, EMIS/Cerner Millennium/infoflex
  • To review applications from clinical staff for the use of Apps
  • To provide clinical input into the IT team including data security, information governance.
  • To investigate and provide advice regarding digital technology brought to the CCIOs attention
  • Member of the clinical informatics group (D-CIG)

Communications, External Links & Partnerships

  • Attend the relevant forum at Cerner depending on area of speciality
  • Attend the EMIS regional and national meetings if applicable to area of expertise
  • Attend SWl digital groups if required in terms of area of expertise

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be deputising for the CCIO when required, providing leadership within the directorates (IAC/ICCS/iWISH/Community)  to ensure the Trust meets its requirements and to provide clinical engagement both internally and externally. Providing clinical input to the information technology team for projects within their directorate. As the trust adapts and moves to a digital way of supporting clinical work the associate CCIO has a senior leadership role to support and guide the development of clinical applications, support infrastructure and hardware decisions and continue to develop digital literacy within the trust by providing clinician input to training. The candidate will be trained as a digital clinical safety officer in order for them to support their directorate digital deployments.

 

The successful candidate will promote organisational efficiency and clinical productivity, demonstrate cost-effectiveness and embed a culture of value for money and return on investment. Ensure clinical engagement with both external and internal programmes within their directorate.  Embedding clinical quality, professional standards for prevention and promotion in integrated and out of hospital services.  Seek opportunity for enterprise & publication where identified.

             

Provide input to the development of the Trust’s strategies and plans ensuring a clinical perspective is addressed.

 

Actively promote the development of clinical and professional networks across the Trust’s hospital and community network with clinical informatics being at the heart of this development.

 

To act as clinical safety officer for digital programs within their directorate if required.  Full training will be provided (2hours) and support to do this area.
