Croydon is a busy, exciting and diverse place to work. The borough has one of the youngest populations in London and continues to grow.

Croydon Health Services cares for local people at Croydon University Hospital, Purley Memorial Hospital and in clinics and people’s homes all across the borough.

We are a very close-knit and friendly organisation where everyone of our 3600 members of staff is valued. We strongly believe that our employees are our greatest asset and so through Listening into Action – our way of engaging staff - we empower everyone at any level to initiate and bring about real improvements in our care.

Join us and be a part of the team that is making Croydon proud.  #choosecroydon

Matron (Emergency Department)

Band 8a

We are looking for a highly motivated nursing leader to join a new Head of Nursing to develop a great team, building on the foundations to improve quality and care to the public of Croydon.

The ED is 2 years old, new specification, with an exciting future, development of roles such as Advanced Clinical Practice and close working with our Mental Health partners with the creation of a Mental Health Assessment Unit.

The Department sees 400-450 patients a day managing 70-100 ambulance arrivals in the same period. We have a well and complete establishment of Band 7 and have a 5% vacancy rate to support the care we deliver to our patients.

We need an enthusiastic individual who welcomes a challenge to strengthen the ED Nursing Leadership driving quality and safety for our patients and willing to support development of nursing practice.

Interviews: 8th July 2021.
