Job overview

This role will be pivotal in supporting the clinical operational teams in achieving  elective pathways recovery. The post holder will also be  supporting operational resilience in booking and scheduling patient care.

This post is integral to the recovery programme and will play a major part in supporting the delivery of all access targets (admitted, not admitted & diagnostics). 

The successful candidate will use their own leadership and operational experience to support the provision of high quality patient care and develop strong relationships with partners across the organisation and SWLondon sector.  

 You will need to be proactive, methodical and flexible in your approach, whilst working to extremely tight deadlines. Team working is essential along with excellent communication skills.To be successful in this role you will need to have proven experience of delivering at a strategic and operational level in either the public or private sector, ideally connected to healthcare provision.

Main duties of the job

Elective Pathways Operations Manager (Band 8A)

The role of the Elective Pathways Operations Manager  is to provide operational support and co-ordination to the Operational Recovery Programme (ORP). The role will include support for the delivery of all elective pathways, including analysing and reporting . 

The post holder will support the General Manager for Cancer & Performance  to provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for the ORP relating to elective and diagnostic recovery. The post holder must have extensive knowledge of the RTT rules and guidance, elective pathways management as well as the Trust Access Policy. The post holder will have CRS Millennium experience (CERNER), and will work using their own initiative with a sound understanding of the business of the Trust and the operational objectives for recovery.

Essential criteria
  • Post graduate training in Business or Management in progress or completed or equivalent experience
  • Formal education to first degree level or equivalent ability or working towards Be able to demonstrate evidence of CPD

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven extensive experience in a management role to include
  • Proven experience at operational management level within a hospital setting, including senior level experience
  • Proven experience of staff management
  • Proven experience of budget management, including senior level experience
  • Proven experience of successful change management and service redesign
  • Familiarity with clinical service management issues
  • Evidence of training in managerial skills e.g. project management, leadership etc.
  • Ability to use word, excel and power point competently
